The basic energy-efficient glass means double glazing and triple glazing, while the glass has more features to make it more energy-efficient.

LowE glass

Low-E glass means low-emissivity glass, it has a film coated on the glass surface, this film is able to allow more visible light while it can reduce the infrared and ultraviolet light that enters the house.

In winter, the indoor temperature is higher than outdoors, and the infrared heat radiation mainly comes from indoors. Low-E glass can reflect it back to indoors to keep the indoor heat from escaping while it can still allow part of the solar radiation from the outside to enter the room. This part of the energy is absorbed by indoor objects and then converted into far-infrared heat radiation and left indoors. In summer, the outdoor temperature is higher than indoors, and the infrared heat radiation mainly comes from the outdoors. Low-E glass can reflect it out to prevent heat from entering the room.

The Low-E glass normally comes in clear, blue, green and grey color.

Tinted glass

Tinted glass is done by adding color pigments to the raw materials during the manufacturing process. It can absorb the solar energy and the visible light.

It has colorful choices, bronze, grey, green, blue ect, and the color has different shades. The light color can have more light transmitted.

Reflective glass

Reflective glass has a thin layer of metal oxide applied on the glass surface, this film has a mirror effect on the exterior side. In the daytime, people can not see the inside from outside, while the inside people can see the outside, at night, the situation is reversed.

The transmittance of reflective glass to visible light is in the range of 20% to 65%, and it can reflect up to 50% of infrared and near-infrared rays, while ordinary glass can only reflect 15%. It can effectively shield the solar radiation energy entering the room while ensuring soft indoor lighting.

Blue and grey color is mostly used in commercial and residential projects.

Argon gas

Argon gas is a colourless and odourless gas which is inert to other substances, so it can perform well inside a double pane or triple pane glazing with coating, like Low-E glass, reflective glass. Argon gas filled inside the glass can improve the energy efficiency of windows by slowing the heat transfer, and it can enhance the sound insulation.
